Captivating Capiz – Pres. Roxas

Posted by Tiffany on October 8, 2008

Pres. Roxas, Capiz was then a sitio of Bgy. Aranguel and was then called Sitio Lutod-lutod. Bgy. Aranguel was a cogonal and shrubby area with variety of trees where gamer birds and animals bound. Inhabitants and houses in this area can be counted by one’s finger. The new condition and the area resulted to rapid growth of population in the sitio of Lutod-lutod. This also gave rise to the emergence of small-scale industries and retailer groups.

Eventually, the sitio Lutod-lutod became a huge source of income of the municipality of Pilar, Capiz. The election of 1947 failed to bring back into office as Mayor of municipality of Pilar, Don Braulio M. Patricio whose wife was the talented Bonifacia Roxas, cousin of Pres. Manuel Roxas. Through the help of his compadres, they made a popular initiative of petitioning in working for the creation of the municipality of Pres. Roxas, thereby separating from the mother town of Pilar.

Its total land area is 77.88 square kilometer. Pres. Roxas is 47 kilometers away from the capital of Capiz, Roxas City.

Pres. Roxas is known for different waterfalls. One famous waterfall is that on Bgy. Badiangon.

Barangay Badiangon’s waterfall is on a huge flat-rock, which is approximately 50 meters high. Its body is about 7-8 feet deep. You will climb the Lalakdon Mountain in going to the falls. The said waterfall supplies the water on the Barangay River.

You’ll be captivated when you get to see the waterfall. Its cold water will make you shiver. Plus, if you are in the top of the huge flat-rock, you’ll see the wideness of Manapao, Pontevedra, Capiz and some parts of Panay.

It’s not just Bgy. Badiangon’s waterfall will fascinate visitors. There are other waterfalls in Pres. Roxas that can fancy visitors’ eyes namely, Lictinon in Bgy. Bayuyan and Kawa-kawa in San Silvestre.

Every year that the municipality of Pres. Roxas celebrates its religious fiesta every May 1, 2, 3, street dancing is always on top of the list for the highlight of the said event. Participating barangays and schools gives their incomparable performances for the visitors who suffer the heat of flaming-hot sun every summer just to witness the street dancing.

Truly Capiz is very captivating. It has lots of tourist spots that can arouse your excitement.

I thought I was Dying…

Posted by Tiffany on September 22, 2008

Do you know the feeling of dying? I do.

I should have listened to my Uncle when he forbidden me to go to the waterfall in our place with my cousins and friends. I’m not a swimmer and I’m aware of that. When we reached the falls, I swam unto the bamboo which was near & horizontally placed on each side of the waterfall’s body. I was confident that I won’t sink if I just hold onto it. We had a lot of fun before the accident occurred. Read the rest of this entry »

My Childhood Toy

Posted by Tiffany on September 15, 2008

When I was a kid I have lots of stuffed toys. I don’t really have a favorite with those. What matters to me then was I have a toy to be played whenever I want to. But I have this teddy bear stuffed toy that were given to me by my Aunt (my Mom’s sister) when I was five-year-old.  It doesn’t really have special features. I just kept it coz it was a remembrance from her.

That toy is still on my property right now. Whenever I see it I can’t help but remember a friend from the past. It was her birthday and I didn’t have any present for her. So I went back to our house and find a gift that I could present her. In a hurry, I picked up this teddy bear and gave it to her.

Go to fullsize imageMusic is the language that is spoken everywhere. In fact, I have lots of favorite music, whether it be acoustic, rock, ballad or OPM.

Lyrics of the song ‘It’s my Life’ by Bon Jovi really inspires me. My favorite lines of the song are, “it’s my life and it’s now or never/ I ain’t gonna live forever/ I just wanna live while I’m alive/ It’s my life…” Read the rest of this entry »

example of an overcrowded place

I think I’m unique when asked if what kind of place I am frightened of coz I would answer ‘over-populated place’. Maybe you won’t understand me for that but I’m scared of being snatched or hold-up in a certain place full of people where no one would bother to help me. Read the rest of this entry »

Keep on Rockin’, Mom!

Posted by Tiffany on September 11, 2008

I am a product of what they so-called ‘broken family’. I don’t know if it is the right term to be used to describe the status of my family.  My mother is working in Manila, my father is living with his parents, and I am staying in one of our relatives.

We used to live under one roof. You can picture out a happy family if you want.  But Read the rest of this entry »

She’s Intimidating…

Posted by Tiffany on September 11, 2008

I am really intimidated by some people.  Sometimes I just don’t get it. I feel so small every time I’m mingling with the kind of person whom I think is intimidating.  Whenever I’m with them I don’t look intimidated but deep inside, the feeling already eats me. Read the rest of this entry »

Ride with Me

Posted by Tiffany on September 9, 2008

it looks like this

There is this funny story I want to share with you when we first had our family reunion. It was held at one of my grandparent’s houses.  Actually at first I am afraid to go to that place because of so many mountain cliffs on the way to there house coz it is located on top of their mountain. But since it is my duty and obligation to attend so I did. I just think that if ever  I’ll get accident on our way, it wouldn’t be just me there’s a lot of us J.

I admit that I had a great time in staying there. But I did not know that there was still waiting for me. Read the rest of this entry »

A Trip to Mambukal Resort

Posted by Tiffany on August 26, 2008

I’ve always been fascinated by beautiful nature. I’ve went to some places where there are beautiful falls. I am not really a good swimmer. I don’t even know how to do the freestyle or breaststroke. I just love going to places blessed with rich beauty of nature.

When we had our educational trip in Bacolod City, we had the chance to visit Mambukal Resort located at Murcia, Bacolod City. At first I thought that it was just an ordinary resort with pools and cottages. But I was wrong. Mambukal Resort is not just an ordinary one. Read the rest of this entry »
